PHILLIP

Phillip - Electrician - Bright Spark

Electrician

Phillip, has been with Bright Spark Electricians for a good few years now.

Qualified in Aeronautical Engineering, Phillip steered away from this to become a First Class Electrician with over 19 years experience.

Having like the majority of Bright Spark Electricians who have spent time working with Service companies, travelling miles across the width and breadth of the country just on swapping out sockets and Light fittings, he wanted to work with a more Local Reputable Electrical Company, where he can spend time on his Passion of Electrical installation - rather just a driver covering often hundreds of miles a day, to Change a socket or swap out a faulty light fitting!

Phillip works as an Electrician / Qualified NICEIC Supervisor  (it is Phillip who has to verify all the Electrical Certificates to ensure that they are compliant with the Electrical Regulations BS7671 for all of our electrical projects that the Electricans have carried out).  It is not just a matter of a quick walk around a property, and saying YES or NO,  it is a mattter of what the circuits are doing!

Check out the many great reviews Phillip has had in carrying out his work, along with the fault-finding, and recitfying electrical issues at our customers homes, and businesses.

Phillip also visits many of our Customers to carry out Surveys and quotation visits, with his many years of electrical installation, can come up with the Right Solution.

Phillip carries out Bright Spark Electrical Services  Electrical Installations, along with Inspection & Testing.

Phillip has a passion for "Real Ale", and in the evenings can be found in front of his computer gaming.  In his spare time he is "Uncle" to his Nephew and Niece, and you willl be surprised that when visiting customers homes with young babies, will comment that he thinks the child needs some more food, or a drink - he is very often right!

Terry

Electrician

Terry is a very much loved Team Member at Bright Spark.    Terry has 25 years+ Electrical Installation experience working in and around London,  where he worked directly for a Landlord with many many properties.

Terry's work there was very much a Multi-trader, renovating the properties and carrying out the "fit-out" of them, returning at the end of some very long lets, to renovate and upgrade everything including the Electrics again, and again.

When joining the team at Bright Spark, he said he "wanted to be in a Friendly Local Electrical Company, where he did not have to travel upto, in and around London" he certainly has this.

Terry loves his job,   Terry is one of our "Go-to" Electricians, carrying on the various array of Electrical Installation with a passion for Fault finding.

Terry has been off for a part of 2024 following a major operation, and returns in November 2024 for a couple of days a week, whilst he builds his strength back up - Welcome back Terry.

Terry a "South- Londoner" by birth, lives just outside Sevenoaks, with his wife and 3x Children.  Although he has 5x children in all, which he loves to bits (often quoted as an expensive hobby with the number of Phones and tech he has to buy for them).

Terry completes a lot of the larger installs, having the experience of "non standard homes" finding cable routes, in order to reduce the  least interuption.

Check out the many great reviews Terry has had in carrying out his work with Bright Spark.

CHARLIE

Electrician

Charlie, is the eldest son of Karen & has had a very varied career, including "Pop Corn" Merchadiser at the Odeon in Tunbridge Wells, Barman & Waiter,  Office & Administration work for the AA.

Having thought Long and Hard as to what he wanted to do with his life, Charlie rejoins the Bright Spark Team & has now retrained, to become an Electrician, he worked with Bright Spark for several months in 2014, and has a sound grounding in Electrical installation.

Karen enrolled Charlie onto the team as an Electrical Improver (it takes 5 - 6 years worth of Electrical Experience to become a Recognised Electrician - and still you has not learnt everything), where he is now regularly out with the other electricians assisting and carrying out the various tasks of Electrical installation undergoing further electrical training at a Local electrical Training Academy.

Charlie also visits a number of Bright Spark customers during the working week, and is often out on his own Jobs, along with working the other members of the team, helping to make the right connections to complete jobs quicker, taking the pressure off of the others to carry out the Larger projects.

Check out the many great reviews Charlie has had in carrying out his work with Bright Spark.

Charlie is another Musician!  An accomplished Drummer & Backing Singer formerly with a Local Band "Attack the Skyline"  Where they won the prestigous title of Battle of the Bands before the band folded as the members pursued their individual careers   (Check the album out on Spotify).   Karen says "the music may be not everyones cup of Tea"!

Charlie is father to his school aged daughter Ariah, and he lives in Hildenborough, with his Fiance Chloe.

Joe

Electrician

Joe's Journey: From Apprentice to Competent Electrician at Bright Spark Electrical Services

Joe embarked on his journey in the world of electricity at a tender age, under the guidance of his father, a seasoned electrician himself. Straight out of school, Joe eagerly joined his father's business as an apprentice, immersing himself in the intricate workings of electrical installations. It was here that he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience, learning the ropes of the trade from the ground up.

After years of dedicated apprenticeship and hands-on training, Joe's father began to step back, transitioning into semi-retirement. It was then that Joe ventured out to explore broader horizons. He delved into the realm of national companies, traversing Southern England to various sites, where he lent his expertise to a myriad of electrical projects. Despite the allure of self-employment, Joe found himself bogged down by the administrative burdens of quotations and invoicing, prompting him to seek a more structured environment.

Joe enters Bright Spark Electrical Services, where he has found his new home. Joining the team, Joe seamlessly integrates his wealth of experience and skills into the fold. From repairs to replacements, and even the installation of new circuits, Joe tackles each task with precision and finesse. His competence as an electrician is evident in his meticulous attention to detail and his adeptness at collaborating with fellow team members.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Joe leads a fulfilling personal life. He shares his time with his girlfriend in the quaint village of Marden, where they relish evenings and weekends together. Yet, amidst his commitments, Joe nurtures a fervent passion for classic cars. His garage  at home is a testament to his love affair with automobiles, boasting an impressive collection that includes a 1960 MGA, a 1965 VW Beetle, and a range of Jaguar E-Types spanning from series 1 to 3.

Among his ongoing projects is the meticulous restoration of a 1974 minivan, a labour of love that he intends to bring to fruition with the utmost care and attention to detail. Joe's dedication to his craft extends beyond the realm of electrical work, transcending into his hobbies and personal endeavours.

In Joe, Bright Spark Electrical Services has gained not only a competent electrician but also a dedicated team player and a passionate individual who approaches every task with enthusiasm and expertise. As he continues to shine brightly in his role, Joe's journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring electricians and enthusiasts alike.

Jaden

Jaden - Electrician - Bright Spark

Jaden joined the Bright Spark team bringing over eight years of hands-on experience as a qualified electrician. Having worked across properties throughout our service area, he already knows the roads and the patch well — which means less time spent finding the job and more time getting it done right.

He lives in Etchingham with his partner and recently bought his own home, which he's steadily working on himself. That ownership mindset shows up in his work: he treats every job with the same care he'd want on his own house.

Away from the tools, Jaden's a keen footballer. He plays six-a-side on Mondays and turns out for a men's team on Saturdays, where he's just been named vice captain — a role he takes seriously. When he's not on the pitch, you'll find him on the golf course.

A reliable, skilled addition to the team and a genuine asset to our customers.

Wonderful Job - Thank you very much

Daphne - Lamberhurst

I had an emergency situation arising from a constantly tripping appliance. A call to Bright Sparks, who have helped me before, led me to their website’s ‘Knowledge Centre’ and although I’ve used similar help sites before this was excellent – clear, well laid out, and logically organised – and as someone with zero electrical knowledge I managed to find the fault myself! I followed up the situation on the phone and got more advice. Really impressed by the Bright Sparks service and will continue to use them and their Knowledge Centre again in the future.

Dave, Tonbridge

My external security lights had failed and because they were over 20 years old, several electricians felt unable to help me. I then asked Karen from Bright Sparks to get involved. She promptly surveyed the problem, gave me a competitive quote and as soon as I accepted it, gave me a firm date for the work to be undertaken. Her electricians arrived on the due date, were very friendly and tidy and worked in difficult places without problem. I definitely intend to use Bright Sparks again.

John, Pembury

Karen was amazing I can not recommend her highly enough she went over and above my expectations and was indeed a bright spark to my day and helped with love ❤

Landlady - Groombridge

Thank you for attending my “Emergency Call out” there was smoke coming out of my socket. I telephoned at least 15 electricians after 7:15pm (in the evening) when we discovered the smoke coming out of the Socket. Their phones not even being answered. The next on my list was Bright Sparks, who were the only ones to answer the call - literally within a couple of rings, and was answered by a lovely lady who reassured me that help would be on the way. The Call was sent to your emergency electrician who called back within 15 minutes, and was able to attend within the hour, and fix the problem. Thank you. Excellent Service
