Flickering lights are also associated with a loose electrical wiring, this can be the main cause of housefires.
Shut off the lighting circuit at your circuit breaker on your fuse box before removing the light fitting from the ceiling and to doublecheck if the wiring has been terminated tightly in the light fitting.
Common signs of this can be when you are removing the light fitting from the ceiling you have a light fitting with wires floating about in the air! As you have removed the light fitting the wires are still in the ceiling, but the light fitting is in your hand. Look at the connection block also as you may see that they have dark and because of burning out.
This is now the time for you to call out an electrician to repair and take a look at your lights.
If you have noticed that your lights are flickering, always investigate if the issue continues and persists then call out an electrician, it is never a good idea to ignore lighting or any electrical problem.
