Come to Life!
Hopefuly we are able to explain the Basic Principles and Measurement of Electricity in more simple Terms
The flow or movement of these electrons is called the electric current. There are two forms of current:
The rate of current flowing in the conductor (wire or cable) is measured in Amperes (Amps). Very small current is measured in Miliamps (mA).
The higher the electrical 'potential difference' is along the conductor the higher the current is. The potential difference is measured in Volts.
The poorer the conductor, the higher the resistance is to the electrical current and the lower the current becomes. This resistance is measured in ohms.
To reduce the possibility of electric shock, electric supply and every circuit must be solidly connected to earth. This means that if a fault or break in the circuit occurs, the current will flow directly to earth, this is known as earthing.

We recently appointed Bright Spark Electrical Services for upgrading our home electrics. Initially their quotation submitted was very professional, every detail of work to be carried out was itemised. The work was completed very efficiently and very speedily. In fact a good tidy electrical job. I believe in giving credit where it is due I would recommend Bright Spark Electrical Services not only for the work completed in my home, but also for their impressive record, which can be easily checked.
Just to say a big thank you for the work that your electrician carried out at my mothers house. He was very professional and a clean worker and the finished job was a complete success. It is very comforting to know that when a tradesperson attends the property of a elderly customer that they feel safe and happy. Once again, Thanks Keith
I had an emergency situation arising from a constantly tripping appliance. A call to Bright Sparks, who have helped me before, led me to their website’s ‘Knowledge Centre’ and although I’ve used similar help sites before this was excellent – clear, well laid out, and logically organised – and as someone with zero electrical knowledge I managed to find the fault myself! I followed up the situation on the phone and got more advice. Really impressed by the Bright Sparks service and will continue to use them and their Knowledge Centre again in the future.
I have always found Karen and her team at Bright Spark to be friendly, professional and reliable. Their quotes have been reasonably priced and provide a thorough breakdown of costs for replacements parts and labour. I highly recommend them.
I was very pleased with the quick response and the job was successfully done by a nice Tradesman the cost was competitive And will call this company to carry out any further work.
